Simplot invests $105 million in Central West NSW
Multinational food manufacturer Simplot Australia is investing $65 million to upgrade its manufacturing facility in Bathurst and a further $40 million on additional farmland in the Central West.
The investment will transform the Bathurst site into a frozen vegetable centre of excellence, enable increased production capacity, and ultimately help boost local and export volumes of value-added produce.
Simplot is one of the largest food manufacturers in Australia and the last Australian-grown frozen and shelf-stable vegetable provider.
The facility upgrades will create up to 100 jobs during construction and include an extension of production areas, and installation of new equipment including new vegetable processing technologies. The upgrades are expected to be completed in 2024.
The project highlights recognition by Simplot and other large food processing companies of the incredible business and investment opportunities in regional NSW.
