Delivering better transport connectivity between regional centres and the State’s major cities is all part of the NSW Government’s vision to boost economic growth, provide more jobs and greater opportunities in regional NSW.
The NSW Government is looking at what fast rail could look like with the Fast Rail Network Strategy, which will present a blueprint for how a fast rail network could be delivered in NSW through a staged delivery program.
The Strategy is currently investigating four key regional NSW rail routes, including:
- Northern corridor – Central Coast, Newcastle, Taree, Port Macquarie
- Western corridor – Lithgow, Bathurst, Orange/Parkes
- Southern Inland corridor – Goulburn, Canberra
- Southern Coast corridor – Wollongong, Nowra
The Fast Rail Network Strategy is part of the $4.2 billion Snowy Hydro Legacy Fund.
