Cobar corridor internet connectivity

Cobar’s welcome sign

Over $2.6 million is being invested to establish a fast and reliable nbn fixed wireless network for homes and businesses around Cobar, Narromine, Nyngan, Trangie and Warren.

The government’s agreement with NBN Co delivers on the long-standing commitment to future-proof and improve connectivity for regional communities who currently only have access to satellite internet services.

The nbn fixed wireless network will deliver access to faster speeds than those available through satellite internet services.

Over 800 premises are expected to be eligible for connection to the new nbn fixed wireless network, with works expected to commence mid-2023.

Next steps

nbn will commence detailed planning over the coming months and engage with the community about when the fixed wireless upgrades will occur.
