Servicing your inflatable lifejacket is a legal requirement in NSW. Transport for NSW offers step-by-step instructions on how to do it yourself.
About our program
As part of the NSW Government's 'Wear a Lifejacket' campaign, and in line with the Maritime Safety Plan, our Boating Education Officers provide step-by-step instructions on how to self-service your inflatable lifejacket as well as general safety advice through free in-person and online information sessions, video demonstrations, podcasts, and social media.
They also promote awareness of lifejacket care and servicing requirements at key boating locations, waterway facilities and at events such boating and regional shows across New South Wales.

Request a Lifejacket Care and Service Program session
Boating organisations, clubs, marinas, retailers, and stakeholders have the option to request a personalised Lifejacket Care and Service Program session for their members and staff.
