Gain stargazing insights with Donna the Astronomer…an outback legend.
With current technology, you could hurtle through space to our nearest star, Alpha Centauri, in a mere 162,671 years.
Or, you can spend an evening on a guided tour to the Centaurus Constellation, where Alpha lives, from the comfort of the Milroy Observatory, Coonabarabran. At the observatory, you’ll be in the safe celestial hands of two-time comet discoverer Donna the Astronomer, a university-qualified stargazer with insights into the cosmos that few in the outback possess.
In fact, Donna is the only astronomer featured in RM William's 20 Great Outback Australians. If that’s not enough, she is working on a PhD in Astronomy and Astrophysics. She was recently awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her work in science particularly Astronomy in the King’s Birthday honours.
