About this location
Lachlan Valley Railway is a non-profit, railway preservation society based in the NSW Central Western town of Cowra. They are a passionate and dedicated society devoted to the preservation and operation of various examples of New South Wales Government Railway trains, ranging from their operational steam and diesel locomotives, to their fleet of heritage passenger railway carriages, and their diesel ‘Tin Hare’ CPH railmotors.
This is a unique Railway museum featuring an authentic (circa 1923) Locomotive Depot and Steam Roundhouse. Light refreshments, videos, books and souvenirs can be purchased from the main entry building. Barbecue facilities are available on site as are toilets and rest areas. Guided tours are available daily and bus/group tours by arrangement.
