About this location
Whitton Courthouse and Gaol, built in 1890, was last used as a Court of Petty Sessions in 1975. Two years later it was handed over to a Public Committee for redevelopment as a museum. The museum was officially opened in 1988 and has since had unique historic memorabilia and restored buildings such as the restored Railway Station and butcher's shop added to it.
Unfortunately, due to major works to be carried out in order to comply with WH&S regulations, the Whitton Courthouse and Gaol will be closed until further notice.
