About this location
The Window on the Wetlands Centre is a community-run educational, recreational and cultural centre and the gateway to the iconic wetlands of the Macquarie Marshes.
It hosts the Warren and Macquarie Marshes Visitor Information Centre (the only one in the region), so please pop in to learn how to access the marshes seamlessly. Entry to some tourist attractions must be prepaid before visiting, and not all locations have mobile phone coverage.
The onsite café is currently closed. However, the Visitor Information Centre, gallery and gift shop are still open. Grab a bite to eat from one of the takeaway shops in town and enjoy lunch on our spacious lawn area before exploring the Tiger Bay Wetlands – maps of the wheelchair-accessible walking loops are available within the centre. Make sure that you pick up a copy of our Birdlists for Tiger Bay Wetlands and also the Macquarie Marshes.
Stroll through the extensive native gardens. Upload the app to discover some interesting facts about some of our regional native plants.
Enquire about the range of guided tours available, walking, canoeing or by vehicle. The Centre also offers an exciting range of scenic flights across inland Australia.
