The Work of Art Gallery and Palette Cafe is a hidden gem located in Barber Street, in one of Gunnedah's finest old homes built in the Late 1800's. Just a block away from the main street shopping area, high decorative ceilings and original timber floors provide a fitting home for local creative talents to display their art, and for diners to marvel at the artworks while enjoying a delicious meal.
A varied range of media is on display in four separate small rooms - sculptures line the windowsills, paintings, drawings prints and photography decorate the walls, and glassware and jewellery are scattered on the furniture. The gallery maintains a strong focus on providing a nurturing environment for local and upcoming artists through the facilitation of artists' workshops and exhibition space.
The Palette Cafe serves delicious light refreshments, lunches, morning and afternoon teas within the Gallery or on the open verandas and shaded garden surrounds and can cater for small groups and functions by prior arrangement.
