Overview of this event
Accumulated Landscapes: Shoalhaven continues an evolving body of work that creates dialogue between regional Australian landscapes through layered oil paintings on paper. This exhibition represents the second iteration of an ongoing project by Bonnie Porter Greene that began with Microcosm, Outback (Goulburn Regional Art Gallery, 2023). With each exhibition, a new layer of paint is added to the existing works, responding to the unique environment of each location. The paper becomes an active participant in this evolution, accumulating history and materiality with each new layer until it approaches its physical limits. The exhibition connects how our experience of one landscape influences our perception of another, and how these relationships might evolve over time.
Bonnie Porter Greene holds an Ad. Dip Fine Arts - Painting (Distinction) and has been a recipient of the Eramboo Trust Residency (2022), Shoalhaven Arts Board 'A Sense of Place' grant (2020), and a finalist in the Bay of Fires Art Prize (2025) and Kangaroo Valley Art Prize (2022). Her work was published in collaboration with Nicole Smede in 20x20x12 Sensing Place (2020) and Rabbit Journal (2024). Since 2014, Bonnie has consistently created work for Community Engagement and in 2022 received the Shoalhaven City Council Australia Day Award for Outstanding Contribution to Arts & Culture. Her current role as a Learning Officer at Bundanon remains intrinsically connected to her artistic practice.
