Overview of this event
Step into a world most of us walk past every day – and see it through the eyes of two of Australia's most adventurous visual storytellers.
Award-winning photographer Stephen Axford and filmmaker Catherine Marciniak are the creative duo behind Planet Fungi: A Photographer's Foray, a stunning journey into the hidden, luminous realm of fungi. From remote rainforests to shadowed forest floors, their work blends art, science and exploration, revealing the tiny organisms that quietly shape our planet.
Join them at Goonellabah Library for an inspiring author talk as Stephen and Catherine share the stories behind their images, their pioneering "fungi safaris" and the moment a single purple mushroom sparked a global adventure. Expect breathtaking visuals, behind-the-scenes insights, and a fresh perspective on the natural world – one that will have you looking down in wonder on your next walk.
