Overview of this event
Celebrate Botanic Gardens Week with Wollongong Botanic Garden by dropping in to explore the amazing and varied botanical collections, enjoy a picnic with family and friends, or participate in our free community activities.
There will be behind-the-scenes tours, rose garden talks, wild native bee walks, poetry to music performances and a fun composting activity, to name just a few of the activities.
Special guest, John Gabriele from ABC's Compost Heap, will also be making an appearance at the Plant Sale on the Towri Centre deck. Be sure to ask him what native species would work best in your unique garden!
Pani Café will have coffees, teas and hot chocolates for sale throughout the day, and OMG Decadent Donuts will be selling delicious donuts that are gluten, dairy, egg, and nut free.
Botanic Gardens Week is an annual week of celebration to shed light on the role of plants in our lives and the important work botanic gardens undertake every day to conserve them for future generations. This year marks the 10th anniversary of this special national event.
