Overview of this event
Since Darren Green was a kid you would often find him playing with inks, pencils and paints, trying to capture the faces, features and peculiar quirks of family, friends and pets. “I was drawn into the cartoon world from scratch” said Darren
He was involved in thousands of great projects including creating the Agro Hungry Jacks Collector Coffee Mugs, the Agro Puppet Doll, the first 3D Poster in Australia, character concepts for the Sydney Olympic Mascots, created merchandise for Kylie Mole, designed and illustrated many children’s educational book series, worked with Geoff Price and Bryce Courtney on their Cadbury Yowies creations and many other wonderful projects.
Darren states “Life is a canvas and how you paint it depends on how many colourful experiences you can fill it with, it’s not a quick painting… it takes a lifetime to complete”.
He’s travelled the world creating in all forms and mediums, painting, cartooning, Bartooning (involves drawing in pubs) sketching, bodypainting, photographing, videoing, directing and producing.
Now after 30 years he's returned to his first love, Cartooning, and has just completed his new collection of “Famous Faces” Caricatures, now showing at The Cartoon Cellar, the newest Cartoon Gallery in Australia, in Canowindra.
The Cartoon Cellar featuring Jagger, Bowie, Morrison, Elvis, Marilyn, Clint, Thor, Mr Bean and many others, even Greta and Johnny Depp are captured in eye-popping detail.
