Overview of this event
This is the first solo art project by local disabled artist Kyle Montgomery. It features 120 colourful portraits of fem people from around the world.
Self-love through nudity is about bearing your vulnerable self, the skin rolls, the stretch marks, scars and/or different body types. It's about understanding your body the way it is and hopefully learning to accept that it goes through changes and to respect and appreciate these changes.
Body neutrality is a shift in perspective, from body hatred, disgust, and dislike, to body appreciation and respect. It is honouring the body as it is and taking a few steps down the body image continuum towards a more neutral zone. Body neutrality is the space where you do not support your body hatred anymore.
