HMS Sirius Week on Norfolk Island will showcase the 1790 shipwreck and all the people from Port Jackson who travelled to the Island on the fatal voyage.
The program of heritage tourism and history and family history research activities are been held across the entire week on Norfolk Island. Ranging from unique tours and events to workshops and HMS Sirius Day.
Includes Accounts of the voyage and shipwreck - Passengers and Crew of HMS Sirius March 1790 - HMS Sirius Shipwreck: what really happened - Why all the fuss over HMS Sirius? - Life on Norfolk Island 1st Settlement - Where is my Ancestor’s land today? - Norfolk Island Family History 1st Settlement research workshop. The 235th Shipwreck anniversary of HMS Sirius luncheon is being held at the exact location where the crew and marines landed at Sydney Town on 19 and 20 March 1790.
HMS Sirius Week Norfolk Island is a project of Australian History Research - Heritage Tourism – Norfolk Island Tourism – Bounty Museum.
