Overview of this event
Keeping Precious Objects Safe is a friendly, hands-on 90-minute workshop designed to help you look after the items that matter most from family heirlooms to keepsakes and personal mementos.
Participants are invited to bring along one small precious object from home to work with during the session. Guided by Museum of the Riverina collection and conservation professionals, you will learn practical, museum-approved ways to package, store and care for your object, helping to protect it from damage, dust and light.
Whether your item is sentimental, historic or simply irreplaceable, this workshop will give you practical skills to help preserve it for future generations.
This workshop is part of a three-part series presented alongside Stuff: 100 Wild, Weird and Wonderful Objects from the Museum of the Riverina Collection.
