Liby Moore - Dancing on Glass and Skipping with Light

Libby Moore is an Australian artist celebrated for her colourful, modern still life paintings, which highlight the beauty of ceramics and coloured glassware. Her work delves into the fascinating interplay of light, shadow, and form, transforming everyday objects into vibrant, contemporary compositions. Inspired by the shapes and textures of her subjects, Moore brings a fresh perspective to traditional still life, focusing on the relationships between objects and the abstract forms created by reflections and shadows. Through her art, she seeks to evoke emotion and invite viewers into a world of dynamic visual narratives. After studying graphic design, Moore transitioned to painting while raising her four children in her north-western Sydney home studio. She works primarily with acrylic paint and draws inspiration from her printmaking background at the National Art School (BFA, 2024). Her ongoing fascination with shapely vessels reflects both a reverence for the female form and a commitment to being an effective role model for her family.
