Overview of this event
This workshop is exclusively for 12 – 18 year olds.
Stitching is a kind of meditative magic. Join Katy B Plummer in a hand-stitching, spell-casting exploration of her exhibitions. You will learn some embroidery basics, and design your own magical hand-stitched iron-on patch. Participants will go home with a personalised basic hand sewing kit, so they can take their new skills and finish their project at home.
All Abilities welcome.
Katy B Plummer has two exhibitions currently on show at Maitland Regional Art Gallery: The Ubiquitous Myth Of The Eerie Wife, in response to Ron Mueck’s monumental Pregnant woman, on loan from The National Gallery of Australia, and Margaret and the Grey Mare, a Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre Touring Exhibition.
The project has been assisted by the Australian Government’s Visions of Australia program, Creative Australia, its principal arts investment and advisory body, and by Create New South Wales, and Vitalstatistix.
