Overview of this event
Far from the traditional utilitarian uses of clay, Mud to Masterpiece is an exhibition that delves into the world of contemporary ceramics, where the boundaries of tradition and innovation are pushed to their limits. Presenting a dynamic collection of works by bold artists, this exhibition celebrates the transformative power of clay as a medium for experimentation.
Mud to Masterpiece will feature the genre-defying work Wave which unites the mythic imagery and ceramics of South Australian potter Gerry Wedd and the sonic intensity of composer and performer Gabriella Smart and filmmaker Mark Patterson. Mud to Masterpiece presents work from artists moving clay around in exciting ways, from large-scale sculptural forms to the intricate and otherworldly, this electric, energetic exhibition showcases ceramic art transcending its traditional roots and entering the realm of masterpiece.
