Overview of this event
Celebrate Dark Sky Week International with a memorable evening under the stars at Palm Beach, proudly recognised as Australia's first Urban Night Sky Place. Set against a breathtaking coastal backdrop, this special event honours the global movement to protect our night skies through an inspiring blend of fine dining, astronomy and storytelling.
Begin with a three-course dinner at Palm Beach Golf Club, overlooking the ocean and headland as twilight settles in. As darkness deepens, step outside for guided stargazing with the Northern Sydney Astronomical Society, exploring the planets, constellations and deep-sky wonders visible above this remarkable location.
The evening also features a presentation by Bob Fuller, sharing insights into Indigenous astronomy and the cultural knowledge woven through Australia's night skies. Marnie Ogg will speak on light pollution and the importance of safeguarding Palm Beach's Urban Night Sky Place status — highlighting why Dark Sky Week International matters both globally and locally.
Join them in marking Dark Sky Week International and celebrating the beauty, science and cultural significance of the night sky.
