Overview of this event
Over 50 years strong, the Squadron Energy Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic is one of Australia's most challenging road cycling races and a key event on the Australian cycling calendar. First held in 1961, the race has gained a reputation for its difficult terrain and gruelling distance, attracting some of the country's top cyclists and international competitors.
In an exciting new addition to G2I, the PSL Men and Women will also showcase the exhilaration of circuit racing on Sunday March 16th at the Lake Inverell purpose built cycling facility. The women will kick off the day at 12:30pm, finishing up at 2:00pm just in time for the Men to close the weekend out racing from 2:15pm to 3:45pm.
The ProVelo Super League (PSL) is an elite road cycling league hosted annually across Australia with teams and athletes competing in a points format. The PSL features an elite women's and men's division with a target of 30 teams anticipated to compete in Season 2 of the PSL. Hosted across January to March, the PSL has established a vital pathway for athletes looking to pursue the 'Road to the World Tour'.
