Overview of this event
Road Gravel Mountain will be held in the Hastings Hinterland. RGM will see you travelling through valleys, mountain ranges, crossing creeks, riding winding cliff side roads to the top of ridges, to see the beauty of surrounding valley below and beyond.
Day 1: Beechwood Pub to Kindee Bridge (the long way or the short way)
Start at Beechwood Hotel (pub), riders distance options 34 km or 110 km.
The final hill challenge will be the famous Pipe Clay Mountain Climb. All riders will end their ride at the historical Kindee Suspension Bridge.
Saturday afternoon/evening:
Camping/shared accommodation available at Long Flat Travellers Rest Hotel, just a short ride down the road from the finish. There will be entertainment, meals, beer available for purchase.
Day 2: Tom Creek Road Challenge: Distance options 40km or 60km.
Has the famous Tom Creek Mountain Climb. While tackling the mountain, you will get a sense of belonging to the gravel roads and immersing yourself in your surrounding beauty. Little ride banter with your fellow gravel rider near you, while cheering others on and recognizing a fellow riders’ efforts to get to the top. The downhills are what all gravel riders climb the mountains for. Your fellow rider will cheer you on, while you navigate the tricky decent back down into the valley.
All riders will finish back where they started.
