Overview of this event
Join exhibiting artists Mary Coughan for a stitching workshop and create an artwork that celebrates a women who has been a heroine in your personal life story. Your heroine might be a family member, grandmother or aunty or it may even be a beloved pet or a special teacher you greatly admired. Fabric, needles, glue, threads and other materials will be provided. Please bring an object or talisman that represents your personal heroine. This can be anything from a photo, a button, a piece of material or a flower. You will then stich your heroine's story in words and/or images.
This two-hour workshop is a beginning, an opportunity of explore and play with memory and honouring memories in a deeply personal way. Participants will be encouraged to continue and finish their artwork at home.
