Known for her instantly recognisable dots, patterns and playful pumpkin forms, Yayoi Kusama has enchanted audiences around the world for decades. This mesmerising installation transforms part of the gallery into a vivid yellow environment covered in black polka dots. At its centre sits a mirrored box containing dozens of glowing pumpkin sculptures. Viewed through its window, the pumpkins appear to multiply endlessly thanks to the surrounding mirrors, creating a powerful experience of colour, repetition, and infinite space. Showing exclusively in Dubbo for two years, the work is on long-term loan from the National Gallery of Australia, supported by the Australian Government through the Sharing the National Collection initiative.
