The NSW Government is ensuring our state's justice infrastructure supports safer communities, easier access to our justice system, and more efficient and effective justice outcomes for everyone in NSW.

Our emergency response services, police stations, courthouses and correctional centres are interconnected, and all play a vital part in making NSW one of the safest and most prosperous places to live.

Significant investment in the state’s correctional facilities has ensured that the needs of the future prisoner population are met. This not only means delivering correctional centres with long-term capacity but also quality supporting and ancillary services.

63 regional courthouses – from Bega to Broken Hill and Wagga Wagga to Wilcannia – are undergoing improvements, with upgrades to fire safety and security, as well as structural repairs and general maintenance

Completed projects include

Clarence Correctional Centre.
Two new ‘rapid build’ maximum-security prisons at Cessnock and Wellington.
A new maximum-security centre for women at Lidcombe.
Major expansions at Junee, Mid North Coast, Parklea and South Coast correctional centres, the New Queanbeyan Police Station and upgraded Gosford Police Station.
