NSW cost of living service goes 'live'
Cost of living one-stop shops being rolled out across Service NSW Centres are helping more households take advantage of NSW Government hip pocket measures, saving households an average of $550.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian joined Minister for Finance, Services and Property Victor Dominello today to officially launch the one-stop shop cost of living service at Wetherill Park Service NSW Centre in Sydney’s west.
Ms Berejiklian said the service is now available at 10 regional and metropolitan Service NSW Centres across NSW, helping more families and individuals discover what savings they qualify for.
“We understand the pressures many households are feeling when it comes to cost of living pressures and we are doing all we can to address it,” Ms Berejiklian said.
“We know many households still aren’t aware of the more than 40 NSW Government hip pocket measures on offer. We look forward to helping hundreds more households discover what rebates and savings they’re eligible for as this service rolls out further across NSW.
“Since we launched our one-stop shop service across Service NSW Centres we have helped more than 160 households claiming more than $45,000 in savings and identifying more than $59,000 in savings. The average saving both claimed and anticipated per customer is $547.
Mr Dominello said the NSW Government is delivering on its promise of alleviating cost of living pressures for families throughout NSW
“There are potential savings to be found on the FuelCheck app, Free Rego, Active Kids vouchers, the Family Energy Rebate and more, and a family with two children could save more than $800,” Mr Dominello said.
“This service provides families with access to an individually tailored one-stop shop service to help them claim NSW Government rebates and refunds.”
Service NSW can arrange an interpreter to assist customers with disabilities or who speak a language other than English.
Pensioner concession card holders could be eligible for savings of almost $1100 if they are eligible for the Low Income Household Energy Rebate, CTP refund, Appliance Replacement Offer, Pensioner Water Rebate and free rego.
The appointment service has been rolled out across Service Centres in Wynyard, Lismore, Parramatta, Taree, Wetherill Park, Wagga Wagga, Coffs Harbour, Kempsey, Tweed Heads and Inverell, with a statewide rollout by the end of the year.
