New flood awareness and preparedness campaign specifically tailored for culturally and linguistically diverse audiences

The NSW State Emergency Service (NSW SES) has launched a tailored public campaign focused on culturally and linguistically diverse communities in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley. While SES public campaign material has always been available as translated content, this is the first time a campaign has been built in language, meaning the campaign is both for and by people who speak a variety of languages.

Supporting the emergency response in the Hawkesbury-Nepean Valley

The March 2021 flood in the Hawkesbury-Nepean was the largest flood in the region since August 1990. It has been classified as a moderate to major flood, peaking at 12.9 metres above sea level at Windsor.
