What’s this about?

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is seeking your feedback on the new radio facility at Green Cape in Beowa National Park, (formerly Ben Boyd National Park).

This will involve:

  • the installation of a 40m monopole with dipole array (45.7m total height)
  • equipment shelter with diesel generator and 1000L fuel tank
  • 36-panel solar array
  • chain-link security fence surrounding the compound
  • crushed stone surface within the compound
  • temporary works area to the south-east of the proposed compound.

The new facility would form part of NSW Telco Authority’s work to expand the Public Safety Network’s land coverage - from less than 35% to 85% of NSW to achieve 99.7% population coverage.

The expansion aims to ensure that emergency services have a better and more dependable network.

NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service will likely migrate to the enhanced Public Safety Network. They will likely use the facility in the management of their parks and reserves.

NSW Telco Authority has submitted a review of environmental factors for this proposal.

The NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service is showing the review to the public to help them decide.
