Set up a payment plan
If you can’t pay your fine in full by the due date, you can pay over a longer period by setting up a payment plan.
How a payment plan works
You can apply for a payment plan at any time.
Approval of a payment plan may be subject to conditions such as an up-front payment, a review period or we may ask you to provide additional information.
When your payment plan has been approved, we will not take any further action as long as your payments are kept up to date.
Apply now
To apply for a payment plan you can call us on 1300 138 118 or complete the Payment Plan Application (PDF 164.85KB) and return it to the address on the application.
Overdue fines
If your fine is overdue and you have received an Overdue Fine notice, you can set up a payment plan for an overdue fine.
Fines issued to companies
You can call us on 1300 138 118
If you miss a payment
If an instalment is not paid by the due date, we may cancel the payment plan which means you will have to pay the overdue amount in full. We may also apply additional costs and take further action.
If you are receiving Centrelink payments
If you are receiving Centrelink payments, you may be able to have fortnightly instalments deducted from your payments automatically through Centrepay.
When setting up a payment plan, you will need your Centrelink Reference Number (CRN) and the type of Centrelink benefit you are receiving.
If you have a driving or vehicle restriction
A driver licence suspension or vehicle registration cancellation will be lifted automatically after you make six payments on time in accordance with the payment plan, unless you have previously failed to comply with a payment plan for the same fine.
We can also negotiate to lift Transport for NSW restrictions when overdue fines are still owing if you can make an upfront payment, or need your licence due to a medical condition, caring responsibilities or for health and safety reasons. Contact us on 1300 655 805 for more information.
If we have taken money from your bank account or wages
If we have taken money from your bank account or wages and you are experiencing hardship, we may be able to arrange a refund for you. Please contact us to discuss your options.
If your application is not accepted
If your application is unsuccessful, you have the option to appeal through the independent Hardship Review Board.
