Blockquote
Add the Blockquote component to highlight a quote, alongside the name and image of the person being quoted. The Blockquote is a visual element to draw attention to key information.
When to use the component
Do
- Add the Blockquote to draw attention to comments of a prominent person, such as the relevant minister.
- Blockquotes can be useful on landing pages to highlight a sentence or short paragraph of text, without the need to add a full text section.
- Blockquotes can be useful on page with lots of text to draw attention to a key piece of information or create a visual break in the text.
Don't
- Overuse the component within a page, limit the number of Blockquotes within a single web page.
How to add a Blockquote
Blockquotes can be added to standard pages and landing pages. To add the component:
- a) On a standard page use the Add block dropdown to select Add Blockquote.
b) On a landing page, in the Layout screen, go to Add block > Create content block > Blockquote. - Click the Add media button to add an image of the person you are quoting to your Blockquote. If you are unsure of how to select and upload an image see the Image guidelines. Within this component the image will be cropped to a circle shape.
- In the Description field add the quote that you want to display on the website. This text will display within double quotation marks (“”).
- In the Name field enter the name of the person you are attributing the quote to. The name:
- must be in title case, such as 'John Smith,' not 'john smith,' and
- can include their relevant position or title, such as, NSW Minister for Health.
- a) On a standard page click the page Save button.
b) On a landing page click Add block, then Save layout.
