The NSW Government is responsible for building and maintaining state roads, and provides local councils with grants and a funding program to help repair local and regional roads. Councils are responsible for prioritising and actioning their repair.

Public Transport in Sydney, Newcastle and Wollongong, freight across NSW, and maritime and boating issues, are the responsibility of the Minister for Transport.
