Home Schooling Consultative Group

The final report relating to the Inquiry was tabled in Parliament on 5 December 2014. The NSW Government’s response was published on 13 July 2015.

Terms of Reference

The terms of reference for the Home Schooling Consultative Group (HSCG) have remained consistent with the recommendation of the Inquiry, that is, the HSCG is to:

• oversee consultation between the BOSTES and the home schooling population;
• provide input to and review the design and implementation of home schooling policies and procedures; and
• provide ongoing advice and assistance to the BOSTES.

* The regulation  of home schooling transferred to the NSW Departmentof Education (the Department) in 2025. References to BOSTES or NESA, in relation to the HSCG, now apply to the Department.
