Plus Community will deliver a robust, evidence-based Post Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) support model in Orange, fully aligned with the NSW Post MBCP Accountability and Safety Support Model and Practice Standards. Building on our established Duluth-informed MBCP and integrated domestic and family violence (DFV) system across Orange and Lithgow, this program provides structured, ongoing intervention designed to sustain behaviour change and prioritise the safety of women and children. The program will deliver approximately 40 hours of targeted support per participant, combining modular group work, individual accountability sessions, and integrated case management. Rolling post-program groups will revisit key themes—coercive control, accountability, respectful relationships, and safe parenting—while gradually tapering engagement to support long-term change. Fortnightly one-on-one sessions will reinforce responsibility-taking and behavioural reflection, while DFV-informed case management will address destabilising factors such as housing, mental health, and service access. Partnerships with specialist providers will extend pathways into safe parenting and pro-social engagement programs. Our approach is grounded in the Duluth model and the NSW Risk–Needs–Responsivity framework, ensuring interventions are tailored to individual risk, needs, and capacity. Structured therapeutic tools will support men to develop self-regulation, challenge harmful beliefs, and maintain non-violent behaviours between sessions. Central to the program is a strong, survivor-focused safety framework. Dedicated Family Safety Workers will maintain proactive contact with partners and ex-partners, providing advocacy, safety planning, and ongoing risk assessment using recognised NSW tools. Weekly multidisciplinary risk reviews and clear escalation pathways will ensure responsive, coordinated safety management across the service system. Grant funding will enable delivery of these integrated activities, strengthen partnerships, and support rigorous monitoring and evaluation. Expected outcomes include reduced coercive control, increased accountability among participants, improved safety and wellbeing for victim survivors and children, and strengthened system-wide responses. This pilot will also contribute critical evidence to inform future DFV service design and investment.
