Breakthrough prostate cancer treatment trialled at Nepean Hospital
The next generation of prostate cancer treatment has arrived with a new robotic laser therapy system revolutionising the way surgery is performed. The new technology is improving patient outcomes for men and ensuring a better quality of life post procedure.
The Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District (NBMLHD), in a collaboration with the Visual Telehealth Lab at the University of Sydney, is trialling the use of artificial intelligence to monitor patients’ vital signs remotely during standard telehealth appointments.
Residents across the Nepean Blue Mountains region can now access additional free, safe and welcoming mental health support with the launch of Safe Haven, co-located within the Head to Health centre in Penrith.
A dedicated simulation room at Blue Mountains Hospital is supporting doctors and nurses to train together regularly, reducing the need for travel and creating better opportunities for hands-on clinical education.
