NSW Youth Week is an opportunity for young people across NSW to come together in their local communities. Councils, youth organisations and schools work with young people to host free activities, events and competitions!
If you live in NSW and are aged between 12 and 24, you can get involved and celebrate Youth Week by:
attending live events
showcasing your talents
taking part in competitions
using your voice to advocate for things young people want in your local community

Next Up recognises the important role young people play in shaping their communities, driving change and creating the future they want to see. The theme celebrates the energy, ideas and leadership of young people across NSW and encourages young people to step forward, have their voices heard and shape what's next.
The theme was shortlisted from more than 40 submissions received from Local Council Youth Advisory Groups and members of the 2026 YAC, before being voted the winner by young people through a social media poll.
A media kit including a promotion video, posters and socials tiles will soon be available for local councils to support promotions.
