Project overview
Elizabeth St, Redfern NSW 2016
What’s happening
In partnership with Bridge Housing, our landmark Redfern Place project is set to deliver around 350 new homes. These homes are a mix of:
- social housing
- affordable housing
- specialist disability support homes
- market sale housing.
This new community will include these facilities for the Redfern local community:
- a community hub
- a new head office for Bridge Housing
- a large new community facility.
These will replace the existing ageing Police Citizens Youth Club facility.
The proposed development is opposite Redfern Oval. It will feature architectural design consistent with the evolving look, feel and culture of Redfern.
It’s also close to:
- public transport, including the new metro station at Waterloo
- shops
- a medical centre
- schools.
Development proposal
Our partner Bridge Housing has lodged the development application with the NSW Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure (DPHI).
The plan was on public exhibition through 4 December 2024. You can still access the detailed plan and view public comments at the planning portal.
Next steps
Bridge Housing has responded to feedback received from the community about their proposal. We expect to have the planning consent for this project in place in the second half of 2025.
