Project overview
Telopea NSW 2117
Homes NSW is pressing ahead with the renewal of Telopea. We are working closely with the City of Parramatta to make sure social and affordable housing meets the needs of the local community, both now and into the future.
We are committed to the renewal of Telopea as an integrated community with a mix of:
- modern housing
- community amenities
- green spaces.
We’ve nearly completed the refurbishment of 148 units in the Wade Street Towers – commonly known as the ‘Three Sisters’. This has brought much-needed social homes back into use. The refurbishment works include upgrades to kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, lighting, new security systems and fresh landscaped areas for around 240 residents to connect and enjoy.
We have also progressed the next stage of Telopea’s renewal, with the lodgement of a State Significant Development Application (SSDA) for a further 423 new homes in Polding Place. The new development will provide a mix of social, affordable and market housing, which will include 146 new social homes.
To support the development at Polding Place, we’ve issued a letter of offer to enter a Voluntary Planning Agreement (VPA) with the City of Parramatta to deliver public domain improvements. If approved, these works will enhance the local area and deliver exciting new infrastructure and improved amenities for the community.
The works include a 6000m2 Parramatta Light Rail Arrival Plaza and park, plus road and pathway upgrades to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, buses and vehicles.
We'll continue to collaborate with stakeholders and the local community as we move forward with new housing in Telopea.
