Project overview
The Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital project will deliver a major regional hospital and improved health services for the Albury, Wodonga and border communities. The project will deliver a substantial new hospital building at the existing Albury Hospital campus and upgrades to existing facilities to support the hospital expansion.
Once complete, the new hospital building will bring many services together at one location to improve patient safety, reduce the duplication of services and travel between the Wodonga Hospital and Albury Hospital sites, and increase the capability and responsiveness of the health service to meet the future health care needs of the community.
The NSW and Victorian Governments have each committed $225 million toward the redevelopment of the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital project, in addition to the $108 million already committed by the NSW and Australian governments, bringing the total investment commitment to $558 million.

The Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital project is currently in the planning phase.
Ongoing consultation with a broad range of stakeholders and the community is essential to the hospital planning, design and delivery process and will continue throughout the remainder of the project.
The feedback received from key stakeholders including staff and clinicians from Albury Wodonga Health, NSW and Victoria government agencies, the local Aboriginal community, a dedicated Project Community Advisory Group and the Border communities, continues to feed into the next stage of the project, schematic design, to further improve the hospital experience for visitors and patients.
The design has responded to feedback highlighting the need for a hospital that meets the needs of a growing population, provides contemporary models of care, improves access around the Albury Campus and provides connection to the outdoors for the wellbeing of patients, staff and visitors.
The project team is committed to ensuring health service staff, stakeholders and the community have accurate and timely project information. The project website will be updated regularly, and information will also be shared via project newsletters and direct correspondence.

Parking changes across Albury campus
Progress continues on the Albury Wodonga Regional Hospital Project, with construction works underway across the campus. First look at the new Clinical Services Building's early design and permanent verge parking approved
Newly released artist impressions provide a first look at the 7-storey Clinical Services Building (CSB), showcasing bright, contemporary clinical spaces designed to support safe, patient-centred care. The new CSB design will be on public exhibition in 2026.
Permanent verge parking areas on East Street and Borella Road have now been approved. These works, expected to start in early 2026 will improve access for patients, visitors and staff, support hospital operations, and enable construction of the new CSB.
