Find out how to access support for you and your family, what kind of help is available, and how to contact someone about available services.
Community and Family Support (CAFS) services
If you and your family are having a hard time, there are free services that are available to help support you and your children.
These services support people experiencing a range of issues, including:
- feeling lonely or isolated
- parenting challenges like sleep problems or managing behaviour
- mental health issues
- problematic alcohol and other drug use
- managing money, gambling and financial stress
- accessing housing, healthcare or other services
- difficulty finding work or study opportunities
- challenges with family relationships
- domestic and family violence.
Our services can help:
- strengthen and improve family relationships
- connect you with people who can give practical advice
- grow support networks and connect you with the local community
- teach new skills to help you find work or volunteering opportunities
- build your resilience and increase confidence
- by referring you to specialist support
- Aboriginal and First Nations People with services delivered by Aboriginal and First Nations organisations to their local communities.

Enter your postcode and any keywords you like to help your search. For example, to find services delivered by Aboriginal organisations, include keywords such as 'Aboriginal' or 'Indigenous'.

If you're not sure what services would be helpful to you, or if you'd like to speak to someone about it, use this finder tool. It will direct you to your local Family Connect and Support provider and help you find the support that is right for you.
Eligibility for Community and Family Support
There is no eligibility criteria to access CAFS services.
The services are free and voluntary. This means that if your circumstances change and you no longer need support, you can withdraw from these services at any time.
