Diversity, equity and inclusion
We are currently developing a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan and would like your feedback on how we can improve equity and inclusion for our stakeholders.

DCCEEW
Your anonymous feedback will help us improve services for everyone, making it easier for people from all backgrounds to access what they need. By sharing your experiences, you help the department create more person-centred and tailored services for the whole community.
You may have interacted with us by visiting or camping in a NSW national park, visiting an NSW Heritage site, applying for energy bill rebates, applying for a native wildlife or plant licence, entering into a conservation agreement, applying for a water access licence or attending one of our events.
We would specifically like to hear from the following groups:
- culturally and linguistically diverse people
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders
- regional and remote (inland and coastal) communities
- women and gender diverse people
- LGBTQIA+ people
- people with disability
- older people and younger people
- people who have previously served in the Australian Defence Force and their spouse/partner
- carers (a person who provides unpaid care and support to family members and friends)
Privacy
We are not seeking to collect any of your personal information. However, if you choose to provide it, either in the open fields of the survey, by sharing your contact information or by emailing us directly, the following privacy collection notice will apply. Please read the privacy collection notice for more details about how your information is handled.
The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) collects and handles your personal information in accordance with the Privacy and Personal Information Protection Act 1998 and health information in accordance with the Health Records and Information Protection Act 2002.
We will use the information we collect to develop our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Action Plan, which will guide us to improve services for everyone, making it easier for people from all backgrounds to access what they need.
Participation is completely voluntary and you are not required to provide any personal or health information to us. You can choose to only answer some of the questions posed. You are not obliged to complete any or all of the questions posed.
If you do provide personal or health information to us, you have a right to access it and can ask us to update or correct your information. For more information about how you can access or amend your information, please contact us at belongingoutcomes@dcceew.nsw.gov.au.
We may share the information you provide with other parts of the department so that we can conduct analysis across all consultations and refine our engagement methodology. We will deidentify the information and use this deidentified data for analytical and reporting purposes.
The department will not disclose your personal or health information to anyone outside the department without your consent, unless legally required to do so.
Access to personal and health information within our systems is restricted to approved users.
