Introduction
This document outlines fundamental values and principles that define the standards of behaviour expected of members and counsellors of the NSW Geographical Names Board. It also provides sources of information and advice on ethical and other accountability issues of relevance to the NSW public sector.
Objectives
The key objectives of the policy are:
- Recognising the role of the Geographical Names Board in preserving the public interest, defending public value and adding professional quality and value to the commitments of the government of the day
- Establish an ethical framework for a merit-based, apolitical and professional government sector that implements the decisions of the government of the day.
Scope
This policy applies to all members and counsellors for the Geographical Names Board.
Ethical Conduct
All activities must be conducted in an ethical and transparent manner and comply with the values, principles and articles in the Code of Conduct.
