Description of activity
Prepare a presentation on a recognised leader of choice. This leader could represent the area of: politics, sport, medicine, science, entertainment or charity.
Your presentation must include the following points:
- A description of the leader, including their background and history (4 marks)
- An examination of the factors that influenced their leadership style (6 marks)
- A justification for adaptability and its importance for this leader. (4 marks)
- An assessment of the effectiveness of your person’s leadership (8 marks)

Context
As part of the Core unit: Individuals and Groups, students have been examining the nature of groups and why they form. Students explore the various roles individuals adopt within groups in order to establish an environment where goal achievement is enhanced and the wellbeing of individuals and groups is promoted. They have examined power bases and the nature of leadership and explore their significance as a determinant of group effectiveness.
