Disability adjustments
Adjustments used in NAPLAN tests aim to help students with disability to take part.
There are 2 categories of adjustments for NAPLAN:
- NESA approved adjustments. Your school must apply to NESA through Schools Online.
- School approved adjustments. Your school can assign these at its discretion.
Disability adjustments reflect the support provided in the regular classroom setting for an assessment. However, some classroom adjustments may not be appropriate for NAPLAN. For example, a NAPLAN support person is not allowed to read questions to a student in the reading or conventions of language tests. This is because reading is the skill being assessed.
