The Advanced Operational Support program will offer support to local water utilities with high risk treatment plants that are unable to access funding to resolve their risks under the Safe and Secure Water Program.
Program objective
The overall program objective is to improve public health and safety by reducing drinking water quality risks in regional NSW. The program outcomes will also be used to inform future opportunities for the government to support and collaborate with the sector to reduce risks.
The grant program aims to optimise the performance of up to ten water treatment plants so that more regional towns have reliable, resilient and safe water services
The program will achieve it’s objectives by delivering the following key outcomes:
- Reduced risk of water quality incidents
- Enhanced local water utility capability to identify and respond to issues
- Improved local water utility understanding of operational processes
This program is administered by Water.
