Program objective
The Program will fund Community Recovery and Resilience Coordinators (CRRC) to be embedded in eligible local councils to:
- Provide community recovery information
- Deliver programs and activities that support the community’s medium to long-term recovery
- Administer a local Community Flood Recovery and Resilience Grants program
- Build community capacity to support ongoing recovery after the funding period
The objectives of the Program are to:
Share information: Disaster recovery and resilience information is developed, promoted and shared.
Build networks and strengthen relationships: Establish or strengthen working relationships between council and key stakeholders through the Community Resilience Network.
Engage community: Deliver engaging and culturally appropriate activities and events in collaboration with partner organisations and stakeholders, to facilitate community recovery.
Improve sector engagement and local recovery plans: Design localised frameworks to ensure impacted communities are effectively supported and appropriately engaged in disaster management practices and processes.
Build capability: Identify community recovery needs and strengths and provide opportunities to build community recovery capability enabling recovery beyond formal funded programming.
