Program objective
Purpose
The purpose of the Cancer Clincial Trials Unit Travel Grants is to:
- Support the professional development and knowledge expansion of CTU staff involved in clinical trials.
- Promote and foster collaboration between clinical trial units and fellow health and clinical trial professionals.
- Build interest and expertise in clinical trials, advanced therapies, digital innovations, and building a skilled clinical trials workforce.
- Disseminate knowledge and information from these conferences to a wider audience within the clinical trial industries.

A-CTEC Annual Conference 2026

- Eligibility: Staff from NSW CTUs that report cancer clinical trial activity into the Cancer Institute NSW Clinical Trial Portal
The Australian Clinical Trials Education Centre (A-CTEC) is hosting its third conference in 2026 in Melbourne. Recognised as the premier event for clinical trial site staff, the A-CTEC Conference will bring together professionals from across the sector for two days of learning, networking, and forward-thinking discussions.
This program is funded and administered by Cancer Institute NSW.
Eligibility
- Applicant must be from one of the NSW Health Local Health District, Specialty Network, or Private Clinical Trial Units that report cancer clinical trial activity into the Cancer Institute NSW Clinical Trial Portal.
- Applicants must be employed in a clinical, medical or academic capacity within the Clinical Trials Unit.
- Applicants must have a minimum of 1 years' experience in the public (Local Health District) or private clinical trial sector, in cancer clinical trials.
Types of expenses funded under this grant
Funds may be used for the following:
- Travel expenses (e.g., flights, train fare, taxi charges to/from the airport)
- Reasonable accommodation costs (up to three-star rating)
- Per diem meal reimbursement (Breakfast = $33.90; Dinner = $64.95)
- Lunch will be provided at the conference and is not eligible for reimbursement.
- Conference Registration
- Daily accommodation and per diem funding requests may not exceed $358.90 per day.

- The potential benefit of attending the conference to their area of work.
The Cancer Institute NSW reserves the right to ensure broad representation from regions across the state.
