Program objective
PhD Scholarships
Designed to support:
- Research Scientists: Conducting exploratory and foundational research that spans risk identification, prevention, diagnostic developments, treatment innovations, and quality of life improvements. Focused on basic, translational, and applied research in any aspect of dust diseases, from molecular studies to patient care strategies.
- Occupational Hygienists or others working in Occupational Health: Conducting research focused on developing and testing intervention models on a scale appropriate for early career researchers. This includes pilot studies or preliminary interventions that can provide valuable insights and form the basis for future large-scale applications, thereby making a direct but manageable impact on clinical practices.
- Health Professionals: Conducting primary research or leading research implementation projects across the spectrum from prevention to treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
- Prevention-Focused Research: Research aimed at identifying and mitigating workplace or environmental factors contributing to dust diseases. This includes developing effective preventive strategies and best practices to reduce exposure risks and prevent the onset of dust diseases in vulnerable populations.
Post-Doctoral and Prevention Fellowships
Designed to support:
- Research Scientists: Conducting comprehensive research that covers the entire spectrum of dust diseases, from basic science to applied clinical practices. This includes identifying risks, developing preventive strategies, improving diagnostic techniques, and creating innovative treatments.
- Occupational Hygienists or others working in Occupational Health: Focused on developing and evaluating intervention models that enhance patient care and management. This includes conducting pilot studies and preliminary interventions that can be scaled up for broader application, thus directly influencing clinical practices.
Clinical Fellowships
Designed to support:
- Clinicians at Any Career Stage: Engaging in innovative research that spans various aspects of dust diseases, from prevention and diagnosis to treatment and patient care. This includes developing new diagnostic tools, therapeutic methods, and preventive measures.
- Prevention-Focused Research: Research aimed at identifying and mitigating workplace or environmental factors contributing to dust diseases. This includes developing effective preventive strategies and best practices to reduce exposure risks and prevent the onset of dust diseases in vulnerable populations.
- Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: Promoting partnerships between industry and research organisations to address complex challenges in dust diseases.
- Capacity Building: Strengthening the clinical workforce by providing opportunities for professional development and growth.
- Community Engagement: Encouraging interaction with patient communities to ensure research addresses real-world needs and improves patient outcomes.
- Technology Development: Supporting the development and application of new technologies in diagnosing and treating dust diseases.
- Policy Influence: Facilitating research that informs policy and practice, contributing to the development of evidence-based guidelines and regulations.
