Program objective
The NSW Government has committed $500,000 to the LCSG through the Community and Employment Benefit Program (the Program) to provide a funding pathway for small scale, ad hoc projects that meet or support a community or employment purpose as outlined in the Electricity Infrastructure Investment Act 2020 (EII Act) and Electricity Infrastructure Investment Regulation 2021 (EII Regulation) and are not eligible for funding under other Program streams.
The objective of LCSGs are to allow for the provision of grants in support of:
- Small scale activities, events, initiatives or projects that deliver benefits to the local community in the geographic area that forms the Central-West Orana REZ (as defined here); and/or
- Community needs within the Central-West Orana REZ that arise unexpectedly and/or are time sensitive.
This program is administered by The Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.

BBGA delivers important conservation, environment, recreation, education and tourism benefits to the Wellington and wider community.
