Program objective
The NSW Space+ Program will be delivered by SmartSat CRC via an ad-hoc grant. SmartSat CRC will:
- Establish governance and finalise the DRAFT Program Proposal and Guidelines
- Oversee an open call for projects and facilitate the assessment of projects to ensure they deliver maximum benefit and outcomes for NSW
- Provide ongoing management and continuous support to ensure successful project completion by IAC 2025.
The NSW Space+ Program aims to drive growth in the state's space sector by strengthening industry capability and capacity through strategic investments and partnerships.
The objectives of theNSW Space+ Program are to:
- Drive the advancement and growth of NSW's space industry capability and capacity to ensure it remains competitive and innovative
- Support the development and commercialisation of space capbility that can integrate into national and international supply chains, delivering clear end-user benefits
- Support NSW space industry scalability and growth through national or international partnerships
- Advance space capabilities that contribute to broader societal goals, including delivering economic, environmental, and social benefits to NSW.
This program is funded and administered by Investment NSW.

Program evaluation
Investment NSW, through the Space Governance Committee (the Committee) will monitor the SmartSat CRC's NSW Node's activities and maintain a strong oversight of the successful projects, performance indicators, and overall program delivery. Chaired at the Executive Director level, the Committee includes members from the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist and Engineer, Investment NSW, and the Premier's Department.
