The objective of seed funding is to assist grant applicants to develop a high-quality business plan for a project approved for scoping by the Trust under the Major Projects Program.

Program objective
Seed funding is available to assist with scoping project outcomes and activities, and ensuring activities are appropriately designed to achieve the intended outcomes.
Seed funding can be used for consultants, contractors, additional or temporary staff and other costs that are related to the development of your business plan, such as travel and workshops for stakeholder meetings to scope project activities.
The funding can also be used for engaging a consultant to develop components of the business plan such as a project/program logic, communications strategy or monitoring and evaluation plan.
Seed funding is provided as a closed, non-competitive grant and the total grant pool available is dependent on the availability of funds.
The maximum grant amount is $20,000 (excluding GST). The maximum funding duration is 12 months.
This program is administered by Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water.
This program is funded by NSW Environmental Trust.

Trust administration; The Major Projects team sits within the NSW Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water. Trust administration oversees all grants awarded under the Major Projects program and monitors their progress.
